Reimagining Mental Health
Through Play, Connection, and Growth
How it all started.
The Production Farm (TPF) began in New York City, inspired by a group of celebrated stage, television, and film professionals committed to providing youth with alternative opportunities to learn, grow, and heal. Motivated by this vision, Sheboygan native Wyatt Kuether launched a variation of the pilot program in Wisconsin in 2014. By 2016, TPF had expanded to a serene 10-acre farm in Manitowoc County, creating a foundation for growth, creativity, and connection.
Building The Vision
Our Leadership and Innovative Approach
By 2018, Wyatt Kuether assembled a talented leadership team, including Muse Seymour (CFO/Managing Director), Kayla Lampereur Hohmann (COO), and Kathryn Heinzen, MS LPC (Director of Behavioral Health). Together, they developed a team of professional counselors and therapists dedicated to TPF’s mission. Grounded in the principles of Play, Connect, Grow our programs combine arts, skill-building, and community connection to address each client’s unique needs and strengths.

The Science Behind Play, Connect, Grow
Building the Vision
We designed Play, Connect, Grow based on two powerful approaches: attachment research and brain science, overseen and implemented by TBRI Practitioner Katie Heinzen, LPC. These methods show how relationships, empowerment, and playful learning help the brain heal and grow, especially for those who’ve experienced trauma.
Play: Play helps people feel safe, builds trust, and learn important skills in a way that feels natural and fun. It supports healthy brain development and encourages problem-solving and creativity.
Connect: Strong, positive relationships are at the heart of healing. Through connection, we build trust and teach emotional regulation, communication, and how to form healthy attachments.
Grow: Trauma can disrupt brain development, but the brain is resilient. With the right support, we can rewire it to promote growth, confidence, and new skills for the future.
This approach is scientifically backed and tailored to meet each person where they are. With Play, Connect, Grow, we help individuals not just overcome challenges but thrive—building resilience and joy along the way.
Looking Ahead: Continued Growth and Community Impact
Since 2021, The Production Farm has expanded its reach and impact:
Sheboygan County Expansion: Opened a new location in 2021 and added another building in 2024.
Brown County Outreach: Extended Manitowoc’s reach to include community-based services in Brown County.
School-Based Programs: After a successful pilot in 2023, we now provide therapy, skills development, and group services in 12 schools across Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties. These programs are made possible through partnerships, grants, and collaborations with schools.
Strategic Growth: Completed a 4-year strategic plan in 2020, overhauling operations and expanding services.
Looking ahead, we’re focused on:
Stabilizing and Enhancing Programs: Ensuring the sustainability of the services we’ve expanded over the past four years.
Campus Development: Planning to build out our Manitowoc and Sheboygan campus’ to better serve the community - ensuring safety and longevity.
Education and Training: Increasing training and internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to earn professional certifications and licensures, growing the next generation of trauma-informed care providers.
With every step forward, we remain committed to providing innovative, compassionate mental health services to individuals and communities across the region.
